Zizzi Italian Restaurant, Beckenham (formly the Three Tuns).
In his early days in Beckenham, Bowie used to perform at the Beckenham Arts Lab which was held in The Three Tuns pub. The Three Tuns has now become the Beckenham branch of Zizzi. Zizzi has embraced the building’s historical significance and the decor is Bowie themed, including two commissioned paintings by the artist Sara Captain. Zizzi kindly give a 25% discount on the food bill for those who have been on the tour. Let us know in advance if you wish to have a table booked for you after this walk to enjoy this offer.

‘Well, I’d class myself as a genuine Bowie fan, so to be totally honest, I wasn’t expecting to learn too much I didn’t already know by joining Kat’s walking tour……how wrong can you be?
Literally, WALKING IN ZIGGY’S FOOTSTEPS really brings those early years to life. Finding where Haddon Hall once stood, being led through the woodland which became his escape route once fans descended, going through the park & onto the high street with so many points of interest along the way, not least ending with a magical visit to the original bandstand famous now for the 1969 Beckenham Arts Lab Free Festival.
I’d recommend sensible shoes then it’s goose bumps all the way, loved it!’

‘Wow, can’t believe I’ve stood on the very bandstand where Bowie sang. Thanks for such a brilliant tour, full of unusual facts and local details of Bowie’s years in Beckenham, where he was inspired to write his amazing early albums, including of course the iconic album Ziggy Stardust!’
